The Mending series: Honours College Internal Service Project

In the words of Dr Mangalwadi, a native of India who is a social reformer and Christian philosopher, “Universities are the greatest risk to parenting in this century because they are the source of darkness.” This table-shaking statement was made in 2019 during a Public Lecture organised by Uganda Christian University and the African Policy Centre where he delivered an address on raising children in the 21st Century. According to him, the darkness in our communities can be erased through the establishment of the true principles of fatherhood among young men during their years at the university. Following the Biblical principles which men like Dr Mangalwadi and Dr Myles Munroe have propelled through their work. The Honours College of UCU has organized an Internal Service project dabbed “The Mending,” a brainchild of Asiimwe Christy, an Honours College student. This project has presented the young men of Uganda Christian University with the opportunity to know their Heavenly Father and learn about His mind concerning masculinity. This is in line with the theme, “Revealing the Father and His Mind for Men” and the theme Scripture from Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

The project started on 8th October 2022 and it was followed by a webinar on 10th November 2022. The final episode in this series will happen tonight from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.

All those interested in joining in for today`s session are highly welcome.
